Official history begins on
10July 1910: the testimony was an extract from the Chronicum
written by the parish priest of Passirana Don Guglielmo Lattuada;
but there are, overlapped to this testimony two annotations
brought back in the registries of the band, these references fix
in inequivocable way that the Musical Band S.Cecilia came
founded in 1909 even if do not establish neither the exact day
neither the month.
But, to man memory, it is narrated that the first seed of the
Musical Band S.Cecilia came before thrown years from the same
Don Guglielmo Lattuada that was a fervent lover of the band art.
In fact one of the first members of the band was a sure Romeo
Cattaneo, a trumpet player in the body of the bersaglieres,
which on the invitation of the parish priest, ran playing along
the main way of Passirana.
It seems that already in 1904 or 1905 it came constituted a
fanfare of approximately seven or ten elements of which they
made part the same Romeo Cattaneo, Giuseppe Borroni, Emilio
Cozzi and others, of which unfortunately does not know the
identity.
The instruments for fanfare and the future newborn band came
acquire to you from Don Lattuada and Giovanni Volontieri; the
first school of music was carried out, under the direction of
master Tencaioli of Milan, in the remittance of the lanḍ of the
parish situated to the lateral income of the Canonical one which
it was approached from the old portal of via Paolo Taverna.
As do not exist official and tangible recordings about this
first period, it is believed that the fanfare it was limited to
deepen the musical and instrumental acquaintance being completed
sporadic apparitions in the within of the same country during
the Festival of July and the “Piva” of Christmas night.
The official moment of the first public manifestation of the
Band happened in July 1910 the 10. The band paraded for the
roads of Passirana in cortege to the head of which it marched
the standard of the band, resisted from the godmother of the
manifestation, Miss Bugatti, sister of the doctor of the
hospital Casati of Passirana; the festivity lasted all the day
during which the band was exhibited in a “concert” executing
shining symphonic marches.
In the first years of life the band took the name of: “Musical
Band” for being named again later “Musical Corps“ and some year
assumed the denomination of “Musical Corps Santa Cecilia”,
denomination that did not come more changed and that still
today is the official one.
In 2000 it participated to the manifestation “2000 in band”
carried out in the Gallery Vittorio Emanuele II to Milan in
occasion of the Epiphany exhibiting itself with to other bands
in the middle of the characteristic octagon.
In the 2004 the band group established a twinning with the
Musical Association Vincenzo Longobardi of San Cono (Catania).
In 2005 it participates to the 50° anniversary of foundation of
the A.N.B.I.M.A. (National Association Italian Independent
Musical Bands) in Rome, exhibiting itself, with to others 100
musical bands, in the Basilica of Saint Peter.
In 2006 it participates to the international gathering of the
Bands in Saint Susanna- Barcelona (Spain). |
